They use policies and initiatives with the hope to provide affordable and supportive housing to those in need. A key consideration is to promote a more diverse range of housing options to accommodate the current and future housing needs of our communities.

Island Health

This service operates 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week

Community Outreach Response (COR) is a mobile outreach service made up of nurses, social and support workers among many others to provide community based crisis response services including street-based outreach. Additionally, COR homelessness services provides street based services to persons who are experiencing ongoing homelessness in Nanaimo.

This service is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Supportive housing units provide tenants with private units with kitchenettes and bathrooms. There are also communal spaces, and culturally appropriate spaces. In addition,  supportive housing offers a range of on-site, non-clinical supports such as: life skills training, connections to health care, mental health or substance-use services.
